Areas of Strength:
CSTP 3 Understanding and Organizing Subject Matter for Student Learning Areas of Improvement: CSTP 1 Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning In what ways have you surprised yourself? I am surprised that at the beginning of the school year, CSTP 4 was my lowest rank, and now it is at the top! I think this has a lot to do with all the new methods I tried this school year and different ways I tried to teach until I found the best one that fits my students. |
Final Self-Assessment |
What actions can you take to remain a connected educator throughout your career?
In order to remain a connected educator, I can contribute and collaborate with the ELA department. I want to take on more responsibilities within my department. I can also collaborate across the curriculum with the History department so that we can plan things that go hand in hand with each other. |
What can you do personally and professionally, to sustain the energy it takes to be passionate about students, teaching, and learning?
Something I can do in order to remain passionate about my job is to embrace the little happy moments instead of dwelling on the frustrating ones. Over the past two years, I have had countless bad moments in my classroom due to behavior or ideas failing to be effective. However, the good moments have been just as common, I just forget to appreciate them. I need to remind myself everyday to make positive phone calls and reflect on all of the good moments. |
A word from my coach..."Mrs. Gonzalez makes learning fun! She uses videos or games to get students excited about the content and stay engaged." |
A word from my vice principal..."Liliana has some amazing talents and abilities as an educator. As a second year teacher, she is ahead of the game and demonstrates her skills in an effective manner." |
A word of advice...Unless you are completely sure you can handle it, do not overwhelm yourself with extra duties. Focus on becoming comfortable in your own classroom before taking on any more stresses. Your happiness comes first!
